Work Location: Japan, remote Engagement Model: Freelancer / Independent Contractor Project Duration: 3 months (with potential extension) Work Schedule: Flexible hours, based on the applicant's availability Language Skills Required: Japanese DataForce by TransPerfect is seeking experienced Japanese Legal Subject Matter Experts specializing in commercial and regulatory law to support AI training and model evaluation. Main Responsibilities Research Japanese commercial legislation, regulatory requirements, and relevant judicial decisions. Analyze commercial contracts, corporate transactions, and regulatory matters. Review Japanese-language legal documents and identify relevant statutory provisions. Annotate and validate legal datasets. Verify statutory citations, terminology, and interpretations. Evaluate AI-generated legal responses and flag incorrect or unsupported conclusions. Draft legal summaries, contract provisions, and structured legal analyses. Assist AI teams with prompt engineering and evaluation frameworks. Role Requirements Japanese Attorney (Bengoshi), JD/LL.M. equivalent graduate, Senior Legal Researcher, or experienced Paralegal. Minimum 3+ years of relevant commercial or regulatory legal experience . Advanced or native Japanese proficiency. Strong knowledge of Japanese commercial and regulatory law. Excellent legal research, statutory analysis, citation verification, and drafting skills. English proficiency preferred. Familiarity with legal technology or Generative AI is a plus.
