We're looking for Masters and PhD-level researchers to tackle complex, multi-disciplinary challenges that train cutting-edge AI systems built by the world's leading research labs. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role designed for serious researchers who want to put their expertise to work on problems that matter — without leaving academia behind. Organization : Alignerr Type : Hourly Contract Location : Remote Commitment : 10–40 hours/week What You'll Do Develop, solve, and critically review advanced, real-world problems spanning multiple academic and professional domains Apply your research expertise to design complex problem statements that genuinely challenge and improve AI reasoning capabilities Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to measurably enhance model performance Uphold academic rigor, depth, and precision across every deliverable you produce Help define the frontier of what AI can understand and reason through — across science, engineering, mathematics, and beyond Who You Are Masters or PhD holder in a STEM or highly technical field from a leading university Strong track record of research, publications, or managing complex technical projects Exceptionally clear written and verbal communicator with sharp attention to detail Self-directed and reliable — you produce high-quality work independently without hand-holding Fluent in English and based in the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, U.K., or Australia Nice to Have Prior experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI evaluation systems Proficiency in Python, R, or other research-oriented programming languages Interdisciplinary research background spanning multiple technical domains Experience designing or reviewing standardized asses
