Opportunity Overview
Handshake is recruiting professionals with experience in game design or development tools such as Panda3D, Solar2D, and Defold to contribute to an AI research project. In this project, you’ll apply your expertise to help improve how AI understands real-world professional tasks within your domain, such as game development, engine scripting, asset pipelines, and 2D and 3D game design. This is an ongoing, project-based opportunity you can take on alongside your current role.
What You’ll Do
- Use your game development experience to create tasks that today’s top AI models can’t solve based on real workflows, such as gameplay programming, scene and level setup, asset integration, physics, rendering, and build and deployment
- Review and evaluate AI-generated responses
- Provide clear, structured written feedback to help improve AI model performance
- Work remotely and complete tasks at your own pace, with no set schedule or minimum hour requirement
Qualifications
- Degree: Completed Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Tool experience: At least 2 years of work experience using one or more of the following tools:
- Panda3D
- Solar2D
- Defold
- Other related technical tools
Additional qualifications (not required, but strengthen your application)
- Experience across multiple engines, frameworks, or disciplines, such as 2D and 3D development, game art tools, or engine scripting languages (GDScript, C#, C++, Java, Lua, or Python)
- Professional experience at a game studio, in indie development, or in a related field such as interactive media, simulation, or game tooling, or a portfolio of shipped or published games
Required for all applicants
- Must have US work authorization
- Strong written communication and attention to detail
- Ability to explain complex game development concepts clearly
- Ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous environment

Confidence describes how well the ownership is evidenced. It is not a rating of how the platform treats the people who work for it, which no public source covers reliably.
