Opportunity Overview
Handshake is recruiting professionals with experience in PCB design and circuit simulation tools such as KiCad, DesignSpark PCB, LTspice, ngspice, and Qucs-S to contribute to an AI research project. In this project, you’ll apply your expertise to help improve how AI understands real-world professional tasks within your domain, such as schematic capture, PCB layout, circuit simulation, and electronics design. This is an ongoing, project-based opportunity you can take on alongside your current role.
What You’ll Do
- Use your PCB and circuit design experience to create tasks that today’s top AI models can’t solve based on real workflows, such as schematic capture, component selection, board layout and routing, design rule checking, SPICE simulation, and circuit analysis
- Review and evaluate AI-generated responses
- Provide clear, structured written feedback to help improve AI model performance
- Work remotely and complete tasks at your own pace, with no set schedule or minimum hour requirement
Qualifications
- Degree: Completed Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field
- Tool experience: At least 2 years of work experience using one or more of the following tools:
- DesignSpark PCB
- Qucs-S
- LTspice
- ngspice
- KiCad
Additional qualifications (not required, but strengthen your application)
- Experience across multiple PCB design and simulation tools, or with other EDA platforms such as Altium Designer, Eagle, or Cadence
- Professional experience at an electronics manufacturer, hardware startup, or in a related field such as embedded systems, power electronics, or RF design, or a portfolio of fabricated boards or published designs
Required for all applicants
- Must have US work authorization
- Strong written communication and attention to detail
- Ability to explain complex electrical engineering concepts
