A PhD in microbiology, clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or a closely related life‑science field is ideal; peer‑reviewed publications, hands‑on experience with pathogen isolation in clinical, research, or public health labs, and knowledge of biosafety levels (BSL-1 to BSL-4) signal fit.
