Data Engineer – Log Analytics

Sepal AI builds the world’s hardest AI benchmarks—grounded in real-world enterprise and operational systems. We’re hiring contributors with deep SIEM and log analytics expertise to help us simulate realistic security and observability workflows that challenge and evaluate large language models (LLMs). 🧠 What You’ll Do - Analyze, debug, and validate queries across log datasets generated from real-world infrastructure and application telemetry. - Work with SIEM platforms (e.g. Wazuh, Matano, Splunk, Elastic, etc.) to design realistic detection and investigation workflows. - Provide detailed feedback on query logic, signal-to-noise ratio, and false positive patterns. - Collaborate with engineers to understand high-fidelity incidents, misconfigurations, and anomalous behaviors. ✅ Who You Are - 2+ years of experience in log analytics, SIEM operations, observability pipelines, or incident response. - Comfortable working with large volumes of structured and semi-structured telemetry (e.g. JSON logs, syslog, metrics). - Strong practical knowledge of tools like: Splunk, Wazuh, Matano, Elastic/Kibana, Graylog, OpenTelemetry, Vector, FluentBit, Prometheus/Grafana - Bonus: Familiar with Python, Docker 💸 Pay $40–70/hr depending on experience Remote, flexible hours
