TasteMakers is a curated network of designers, creative technologists, and AI-native makers working on projects with leading AI labs, tech companies, and brands. We're on a mission to end AI slop. We're looking for frontend engineers, design engineers, and interactive developers who care about the details most engineers skip: spacing rhythm, typography, animation easing, hover states, accessibility, and overall visual polish. You might build production-quality product interfaces, or immersive, motion-rich campaign experiences with WebGL and Three.js. Either way, you're as comfortable reading a Figma spec as you are debugging a layout in the browser, and you ship finished work, not prototypes. This is a general pool for frontend, design engineering, and interactive development experts. Qualified engineers are matched to active, paid projects as they open. Remote and async, as an independent contractor. Commitment: 15-40 hours per week. What you'll do: Build interactive websites, campaign microsites, and experimental experiences from creative concepts, including WebGL/Three.js scenes, canvas graphics, and scroll-driven motion Create interactive components and micro-interactions: hover effects, transitions, scroll behaviors, loading states, and animation systems Required skills: Strong proficiency in at least one modern framework or platform: React (Next.js, Vite), Vue, Svelte, Angular, SwiftUI, Jetpack Compose, or HTML/CSS/vanilla JS Deep comfort with CSS and/or Tailwind for complex, responsive layouts A strong eye for design and implementation fidelity: typography, grid, timing, and motion that match a high creative bar Experience with animation and motion (Framer Motion, GSAP, CSS transitions, or equivalent) Figma fluency and an understanding of design systems Comfortable with AI-native workflows (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, v0, or similar) and able to tell when they get things wrong Strong written English for code review, documentation, and structured critique Bo

Frequently asked questions

How do I apply for the Front End Design Engineer role at TasteMakers?

Applications go through TasteMakers's own portal - HumanSourcer links to the listing and never collects applications or handles hiring. TasteMakers's access model is "Open / self-serve" (Open application). This listing was first seen here on October 16, 2026 and was still live at the last check.

Is the Front End Design Engineer role at TasteMakers remote?

TasteMakers left the location field empty on this listing, so there is nothing to report rather than something we've withheld. The constraint that still applies is TasteMakers's overall coverage: Remote.

What does the Front End Design Engineer role at TasteMakers pay?

TasteMakers doesn't state a rate on this listing. HumanSourcer never fills that gap with an estimate, so the absence is the source's, not a hole in this page. TasteMakers's profile shows what its rate-carrying listings do advertise.

What kind of work is Front End Design Engineer?

Coding / software engineering. Design/taste evaluation gig work (judging and critiquing website, web-app, and game designs) for AI training

Is TasteMakers a legitimate AI-training platform?

Direct AI-training/design-evaluation gig portal - and that relationship is rated "Confirmed" here because it can be checked against portal.tastelabs.com rather than taken on TasteMakers's word. Confidence describes how well the ownership is evidenced. It is not a rating of how the platform treats the people who work for it, which no public source covers reliably.
