TasteMakers is a curated network of designers, creative technologists, and AI-native makers working on projects with leading AI labs, tech companies, and brands. We're on a mission to end AI slop. We're looking for motion designers whose work makes people stop scrolling: clean typography, considered timing, premium feel, and restraint over spectacle. You might come from brand and campaign motion, kinetic type and motion systems, or motion for websites and products. What matters is taste and craft, and the ability to explain why a piece of motion works. This is a general pool for motion design experts. Qualified designers are matched to active, paid projects as they open. Remote and async, as an independent contractor. Commitment: 15-40 hours per week. What you'll do: Build motion systems and kinetic typography that hold together across a whole campaign or product Design motion for websites and interfaces: scroll-driven reveals, page transitions, animated navigation, and interaction states Write precise motion specs (duration, easing, stagger, triggers) and direct AI coding or generation tools to bring them to life Review and critique motion work, giving specific feedback on timing, easing, hierarchy, and restraint Required skills: Impeccable taste: clean typography, considered timing and easing, and a premium, restrained feel Fluent in After Effects; Cinema 4D, Blender, Rive, Lottie, Jitter, or Framer a plus Strong understanding of motion principles: easing, timing, rhythm, and when motion adds versus distracts Ability to articulate clearly why a piece of motion works or doesn't, in plain language Fast and reliable: comfortable turning around polished work and iterating on quick feedback Strongly preferred: motion for websites or products (scroll and page-level, not only hover effects), and experience directing AI coding or generation tools Bonus: brand launch campaigns, kinetic type systems, or motion design systems

Coding / software engineering. Design/taste evaluation gig work (judging and critiquing website, web-app, and game designs) for AI training
Is TasteMakers a legitimate AI-training platform?
Direct AI-training/design-evaluation gig portal - and that relationship is rated "Confirmed" here because it can be checked against portal.tastelabs.com rather than taken on TasteMakers's word. Confidence describes how well the ownership is evidenced. It is not a rating of how the platform treats the people who work for it, which no public source covers reliably.
